On May 5, 2011 the Institute on Human Rights of ANAS conducted the scientific-theoretical conference on "Role of Heydar Aliyev and ADR in the history of Azerbaijan statehood" dedicated to the 88th anniversary of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and 93rd anniversary of ADR.

On April 21 the Institute on Human Rights of ANAS with the information support of "Trend" Information Agency hosted "Caucasian House and Armenians" conference, which was attended by representatives of "Modern development" public association, the Azerbaijan Association of Female Journalists, and the organizers of the section of education and support of the youth of Georgia.

On July 19, 2011 the Institute on Human Rights of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences held the scientific conference on "Religion and topical problems of public safety." In the opening speech Director of the Institute, deputy of Milli Majlis, Ph.D. in Law Ayten Mustafayeva noted the importance of holding the conference on such topical issue.

Every era creates its own peculiar problems. The thriving scientific - technical progress, which we all are witnessing, sets absolutely new tasks that require improving legal framework to protect people from its negative effects.

Formation of bioethics is primarily due to the immense changes that have occurred in technological change in modern medicine, dramatic shifts in medical-clinical practice that resulted in the success of genetic engineering, organ transplantation, biotechnology, and maintaining patient's life.

From May 31 to June 2 at the initiative of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva Baku hosted the 18th session of UNESCO’s International Bioethics Committee.
