On April 18, 2019, a round table was held at the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS on the subject of scientific and theoretical analysis of the Decree on deepening reforms in the judicial and legal system signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to improve the quality and efficiency of justice. “This decree creates a great hope for the development of the judicial system to ensure the continuous progress of our country and deepen reforms in this area.

Today at the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS a scientific seminar was held on the topic “Modern research directions of legal science”. Opening the seminar with an introductory speech, the Director of the Institute, Doctor of Law, Professor Aytan Mustafazade noted that in recent years the rapid development of interrelations between the health of the population and individual citizens, the realization of the rights of citizens in the field of health care and medical practice, ethical concepts of organ and tissue transplantation, artificial fertilization, etc. as a result of the intensification of some issues of bioethics, the Institute prepared a course on medical law and made a new contribution to legal science.

March 29, 2019 in the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS together with the Council of Women of ANAS and the Organization of Women of ANAS a solemn event was held, dedicated to March 31 - the 101st anniversary of the genocide of Azerbaijanis. Opening the event, deputy director of the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS, chairman of the institute’s women’s organization, Professor Lala Khanum Ahmedova said that there is a history of aggression by Armenia, which began hundreds of years ago with the policy of terror, genocide and aggression against the Azerbaijani state and Azerbaijanis.

The integration of people with disabilities into society and their social and domestic problems, as well as inclusive education, are among the priorities in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, pays special attention to this category of citizens at the state level. At the same time, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva always shows great importance, which it devotes to social policy in its practical activities, and controls the social rights of people.

On December 21, 2018 a ceremony of presentation of the medal and certificate named after prof. R. Mustafaev, established by the Institute and the International Foundation of Professor Rovshan Mustafayev was held in Institute of law and Human Rigths of ANAS. As is known, the late professor Rovshan Mustafayev was the first doctor of political science in the Caucasus and the author of a number of outstanding books revealing the true face of the Armenian people. Under his leadership, he developed and published a chronological encyclopedia "Terrorism of Armenian terrorism and crimes against humanity (XIX-XXI centuries)." In 2008, his latest book, Death Marches, was awarded the certificate of the International Press Foundation of Eurasia as the best scientific study of international terrorism in the year.

On October 8, 2018, with the joint organization of the Institute on Law and Human Rights of ANAS and the Association of Lawyers of the Black Sea-Caspian Region, an international conference was held on the topic: “International terrorism and the fight against it in modern conditions”.

“Hasrat Yolu” Public Association for Assistance to Prisoners and Hostages held a final presentation on the topic “Investigation of violated rights of the hostages - civilian population (women and children) during the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” in the Institute on Law and Human Rights of ANAS on September 21, 2018.

On May 08, 2018, the foundation meeting of the Women’s Board was held in the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS. Nazim Jafarli, Deputy Director of the Institute, Doctor of Law, Professor, Rana Mirzazada, Chief of ANAS Women’s Board, Chief of Department of the Institute of Philosophy, Chief of Public Council of State Committee for Family, Women and Child Problems, Professor, Lala Movsumova, Chief of the Women’s Board of the Institute of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy, Samira Kadiyeva, Secretary of ANAS Initiative Group of Women’s Board, PhD in Philology, Leyla Mammadova, Chief of Trade Union of the Institute, Chief of Department and other employees of the Institute participated in the meeting.

On May 3, 2018, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS and the Association of Lawyers of the Black Sea-Caspian Region jointly held a republican scientific and theoretical conference “Modern theoretical and practical approaches to the protection of human rights and freedoms in the XXI century” dedicated to the 95th birthday anniversary of national leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

On March 29, 2018 in the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS held a presentation “Electronic governance in the judicial system: a scientific and practical approach”. The presentation took place in connection with the award of the project “Pulse of the court: a revolution in management” at the Council of Europe competition “The Crystal Scales of Justice”. Opening the event, Director of the Institute, Member of Parliament, Doctor of Law, Professor Ayten Mustafazade, spoke about improving the quality and effectiveness of justice and law.
