                                Lecture on the topic: "Natural Resources and Biodiversity of Azerbaijan"

On April 25, 2017 Aida Bandalieva, a researcher at the Institute of Law and Human Rights of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, conducted a lecture on the topic: “Natural Resources and Biodiversity of Azerbaijan” for pupils of the 7th grade of Secondary School No. 232 of Surakhani district.

Aida Bandalieva directed the students’ attention to the necessary aspects for improving the welfare of society. In addition, she noted topics such as the importance of physical health and sports, the consequences of malnutrition and methods of combating various diseases. The students were also informed about the problems such as the deterioration of the ecosystem in particular plants, gene modifications and the consumption of genetically modified food products, can have a significant impact on a health of population, as well as the causes of unpredictable consequences, in particular: allergy, infertility, weakening of the immune system , The manifestation of genetic diseases, as well as high risk of cancer.

During the lecture, a presentation was delivered about what GMOs are and the consequences of using those products. At the end of the lecture, Aliyeva Turkana, a 7th grade student from school №232, gave additional information about GMOs.
